GRR001 - Albert Axe "Parallel / Destiny"

Founder of Garrido Music™, Luis Trujillo Garrido aka Albert Axe, launches the series of releases for the experimental side project. The two track EP sees his approach to the lighter side of House music, using bright pads and vocal samples to highlight his attempt at trying something new.

Parallel - 124 bpm
Destiny - 128 bpm

"Parallel" introduces the EP with a light-hearted downtempo soundscape, drawing influences from deep house and the South African House scene, evident from the use of hats and off placement of the claps. Well-rounded 808's throughout the song break through the layers of hi-hats, bright pads and occasional vocal samples, preparing the listener for the more upbeat second track of the EP.

"Destiny" is presented with a packed bag of percussion, 808's and dazed out strings. Being the more up-tempo track of the EP, it still seems to fit the light-hearted nature of the whole. In it's entirety - a rare approach to composition from the often dark sounds of Albert Axe.
